Dr. Tan Yann Chong is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nuevocor. Nuevocor currently holds the distinction of having raised the largest initial funding round in biotech in Singapore. Dr. Tan had also co-founded 2 previous biotech startups, where he served as the Chief Scientific Officer and the Chief Technologist respectively. He has led research and development, built and scaled up platform technologies, and have multiple patents to his name. His startups have cumulatively raised close to US$400M, and one of them successfully IPO’ed on NASDAQ. Dr. Tan also has biotech investment and incubation experience and was previously Managing Director at a biotech venture capital firm. He was also the Chief Innovation Officer at a Singapore research institute and was responsible for identifying, nurturing, and spinning off 3 healthcare-related companies. ​Dr Tan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (summa cum laude) from Duke University and obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Immunology from Stanford University.
